EXCLUSIVE: Coby Linder of Say Anything Talks Drum Lessons With Buzznet

It was announced on Tuesday that Coby Linder of Say Anything would be giving drum lessons in Los Angeles, California, while the band has some time off. This afternoon Linder chatted with Buzznet’s DJ Rossstar about the decision to offer lessons and even revealed his top five favorite songs to drum along to.

“I took drum lessons when I first started playing … and continued for three years. My teacher Pete is the reason why I play today and I’d like to share that with other kids that are interested in being drummers,” Linder explained. Assuming that a lot of his clients will want to learn Say Anything songs, when asked about the hardest one to master, Linder stated that “the toughest say anything song to play live would probably be “Belt” … but its also the funnest because of how many changes there are. It’s a real stamina tester.”

Linder is offering to teach you any song on drums, but here is his top five personal favorite songs to play:

Green Day – “Burnout”
Nirvana – “Scentless Apprentice”
Foo Fighters – “My Hero”
The Beatles – “Come Together”
Smashing Pumpkins – “Tonight Tonight”

And as for Say Anything … The band just finished an entire summer on Warped Tour in support of 2007′s In Defence of the Genre and already have plans to record a new record. “We’ll start writing in Decemeber and recording early next year,” Linder declared.

If you want to contact Linder about prices and setting up lessons, you can email him (cobes66@hotmail.com) or MySpace him (myspace.com/movethebeans). Make sure you write ‘drumming lessons’ in the subject and where in SoCal you live.

Soooo … Are you going to take drum lessons from Mr. Linder? Which songs do you want to learn the most?
