Daily Music Dose: The Fall of Troy

As a group, we decided that our Daily Music Dose should truly be daily. Seriously. So even though it’s a Saturday, StewieIsMyHomeboy really wants you to plug in your earphones or blast your laptop to The Fall of Troy. Their psychedelic brand of post-hardcore is sure to get you signing (or dancing) along this weekend!

SILENCE!!

For those fortunate ones who don’t know yet, you will find out soon enough that an eerie silence has graced the pages of video monster truck site YouTube. We have been thrust into peril!! Lets work our way around it!

No Honda Civic Tour in 2009

In the past, the Honda Civic Tour has featured bands such as Blink-182, Incubus, Fall Out Boy and, last year, Panic at the Disco.  Since 2001 it’s brought fantastic and diverse acts to cities across the US.

But in 2009, all of the bands playing the HCT?  Will be imaginary.  Because according to the HCT’s official Facebook, there will be no 2009 Honda Civic Tour.

We’ve been doing this since 2001. Sometimes, we forget those sort of details, but thankfully, we get it straight from Wikipedia. That’s where we found out where wombats nest, too.

We’re taking a year off in 2009, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love the rock music.

While disappointing, the year off makes sense economically.  With the current climate in the United States, it’s becoming difficult for tours to make themselves both affordable for fans and profitable for bands, promoters and everyone involved.  And with 2009 slated to be another financially rough year, despite the passing of President Barack Obama’s new stimulus package, it’s possible that the folks at HCT weren’t able to find a balance that would suit everyone.

However, let’s keep our hopes up for 2010!  Current projects show that, financially, things should even out by January of 2010.  So, when HCT comes back bigger and better than ever, who would you like to see on the 2010 tour?

Artist vs. Poet: Live Photos

Beatrixkiddo79 hit up The Fubar in St. Louis to snap some of the band’s set. Smile with ‘em here.
