Lauren Conrad’s “L.A. Candy” To Become A Movie

My oh my, hasn’t Lauren Conrad come a long way since rivaling K-Cav in her hometown of Laguna Beach? You know her best as the central (and perhaps most well-liked) blond on MTV’s The Hills, but since she politely bowed out of Season 6 she launched a few fashion lines and wrote a book. And the screen rights to that book have been bought by Temple Hill Entertainment.

The bestseller penned by Conrad “tells the story of a 19-year-old who moves to Hollywood, quickly finds fame as a reality series star and then has to deal with the ramifications of living a fishbowl life.”

Uh, so, it’s The Hills?

And this Hills-based book is then going to be turned into a MOVIE? So it’s a movie based on a book that’s based on a reality series. Pardon my language but, what the actual fuck?

I get that there’s going to be a writer and perhaps some real actors, but… why?

The Millionaires Think These 10 Halloween Costumes Will Be Overplayed In 2009

Every Halloween there are the few costumes that tend to be soooooo overplayed. Every year certain girls take Halloween as an opportunity to dress slutty. If you plan on standing out this Halloween you probably don’t want to be caught wearing one of these 10 outfits listed below. And unless you can dance as dirty as Patrick Swayze, you certainly do not want to dress up as Jeniffer Grey or Patrick Swayze. If you have your costume planned already, drop The Millionaires a comment and let Buzznet know what you plan on being.

10. The Devil

9. Angel

8. Playboy Bunny

St. Vincent Talks “New Moon”, Vampires, Romance and Movie Soundtracks

“New Moon” promises to offer more than another helping of R. Pattz eye candy – this time, the soundtrack has become a hugely anticipated part of the film.

Who better to talk vampires, romance and movies with then the artists on the “New Moon” Soundtrack? Unlike the “Twilight” soundtrack, all the music on the “New Moon” album is original and exclusive to the film. We pulled St. Vincent (Annie Clark) off of the busy streets of New York to catch up with her and discuss her new song with Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon for the track ‘Roslyn’ on the “New Moon” Soundtrack.

Buzznet: As a female musician on stage, what is special about you and your performance? How do you stand out?

Annie Clark: I get pretty violent with the guitar, sometimes I get carried away and abuse it a bit. I like to dress up on stage, not necessarily paint my face, but put on a cute outfit. I want to give a shout out to Rachel Corney, I wear a lot of her stuff on stage. I also really like Opening Ceremony.

Buzznet: What is your favorite song of yours to perform?

Annie Clark: Actually the song that I recently put out a music video for is called ‘Marrow’. That would have to be my most energetic and entertaining song to perform live.

Buzznet: What music video that has recently been released is your favorite?

Annie Clark: Fever Ray’s ‘When I Grow Up’ That is the coolest music video ever. I am actually going to see Fever Ray on the 29th and I am so excited. She has a lazer light show.

Buzznet: What are three albums you would for sure put on your best of 2009 list?

Annie Clark: The Dirty Projectors – Bitte Orca, Grizzly Bear – Veckatimest and Antony and the Johnsons – The Crying Light.

Buzznet: We saw that you twittered you were looking for suggestions on some James Baldwin novels to read. Did you find any? Do you have an recommendations on novels to read?

Annie Clark: I read Giovanni’s Room and it was so engrossing that I want to go on a James Baldwin kick. Just waiting on my Amazon order so I can start reading more. I would recommend Malcom X’s biography or Mia Farrow’s biography; both are classics and really inspiring.

Buzznet: What was the inspiration behind ‘Roslyn’ the song you and Bon Iver collaborated on for the New Moon soundtrack?

Annie Clark: To get more details on the song writing inspiration you will have to check with Bon Iver. However, we both were really interested in collaborating after we met at Bonnaroo we realized that we were both big fans of each other. After the festival he sent this song ‘Roslyn’ and we talked a bit about what I would do on it and the whole thing was just a really simple process. Really gratifying experience.

Buzznet: What male musician do you think would make the sexiest vampire?

Annie Clark: Tom Berlain in 1978 would make the sexiest vampire. He is a babe!

Buzznet: If you could perform at any celebrities party who would it be? Why?

Annie Clark: Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart, assuming they are together. But, just in case Pattinson and Stewart’s relationship is a publicity stunt; I will play Amy Pohler and Will Arnett’s party.

Buzznet: What is your favorite movie soundtrack?

Annie Clark: I have a bunch of favorite movie soundtracks. Being a suburban teenager at age 13 and not necessarily being exposed to a lot except what is on the radio, I think that soundtracks were and are a great way to discover new music; especially pre-internet. We got into The Craft, Romeo and Juliet, Pulp Fiction, Empire Records. Oooh, and Singles; it had the Sound Garden song and the Pearl Jam song on it. Soo good.

Buzznet:If you were to set up a date for Bella and Edward, what song would you play to set the mood?

Annie Clark: Mazzy Star’s – ‘Fade Into You’
They could fade into each others eyes, but of course not have sex.

Buzznet: If you were offered the chance to stay out of the sunlight, but live forever, would you do it?

Annie Clark: No. No way. Who wants to live forever?

Buzznet: What is the craziest thing you or someone you know has done for love?

Annie Clark: I won’t say whether or not I have done this. But, I think the internet makes it pretty convenient to stalk your crushes. Not that I have done this of course, but I have heard of my friends doing it. You know, stalking your crush on Facebook or on Google image search. The trick always is that if you ever go on a date, that you make sure you don’t bring up anything you read about him on his Facebook vs. something that he actually told you himself.

Buzznet: Who are you going to see “New Moon” with?

Annie Clark: I will probably try and round-up my sisters and go see it with them. I think that every female in my family has read all of the “Twilight” series.

St. Vincent’s tour with Andrew Bird in the US kicked off on 9/29. The European dates after are with Grizzly Bear. Grizzly Bear has also made a song titled ‘Slow Life’ for the “New Moon” soundtrack, so we can expect they will all head to the movies together.
